On this page the latest news regarding the NMR-Summerschool are given - please check back !
I strongly recommend to print before your departure .

Materials recommended:

Book with NMR-tables for the exercises ( structure elucidation )
If available take a laptop-computer with you, there will be also interpretation exercises using different software-tools.

Time schedule:

8am (only for persons staying at the „Club-Sportunion“ - people staying outside will have their breakfast outside)

12am (for all persons)

6pm (for all persons)

The Check-In counter is available from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 and is located near the main-entrance of the "Club-Sportunion" directly at the (small) airport there. Participants staying outside the "Club-Sportunion" should also show up between 3pm and 5pm at the "Club-Sportunion". For Check-In it is necessary to take your forms from the money transfer with you, because I have approximately (as in the years before) at least 5-10 unassigned amounts on my account statements ! ( There is usually 5-10 times the term 'Überweisung' (=money transfer) there, which I can not assign to a specific person ). People who have requested the reduced rate because of their GÖCh-membership should take there GÖCh-membership card with them.

The names used below like "Group 1, 2 and 3" are not 'static' - select the exercises in which you are interested in - usually a group shouldnt exceed 10-12 participants. Especially for some computer-assisted demonstrations/exercises it might be a wise decision to take your laptop-computer with you.

Additional information

A few warnings about hiking and climbing

Niederöblarn is located in a very nice valley - named 'Ennstal' - surrounded from a large number of fairly high mountains. There are a lot of opportunities for hiking, bike rides and climbs. Please be aware that many hikes lead over quite exposed trails - in some cases rope protection is highly advised. Even the 'normal routes' to e.g. Grimming and Dachstein lead over such exposed trails. Furthermore there is usually no water available during such hikes - you have to take it with you (and you need more than you might expect !). Please be aware that you enter an alpine environment leading to heights up to 3000 Meter (9,000 ft) above sea level - appropriate experience and equipment is needed !

Everybody is strongly advised to collect the appropriate information from people familiar with this area; furthermore colleagues should be informed about the planned activity as an additional security service. The organizers cannot be held responsible for any accident during such an activity - any responsibility will be rejected.

Sport activities

The Club-Sportunion offers a lot of sports activities - appropriate clothing is strongly recommended. There is also an indoor climbing wall - its use is only possible AFTER registering at the reception desk and verifying by signature the knowledge of belaying techniques.

Travel information

The nearest airport is Salzburg, as an alternative you can approach Niederöblarn via Linz, Graz or Wien. From all airports there is a train connection to Niederöblarn available. Niederöblarn has a small train station, a larger one is at Stainach-Irdning where every train stops (ca. 7km to Niederöblarn)

Travelling by car

via Salzburg - Tauernautobahn (A10) - Schladming - Niederöblarn (direction from Schladming to Liezen) - follow the signs to the "Flughafen" (=Airport)
via Pyrnautobahn(A9) (from Linz or Graz) - Liezen - Niederöblarn (direction from Liezen to Schladming) - follow the signs to the "Flughafen" (=Airport)

Check-in at Niederöblarn

Please check-in between 3pm and 5pm on Sunday, September 9th, 2018. Participants staying outside the "Club-Sportunion" should also show up between 3pm and 5pm at the "Club-Sportunion".

See you in Niederöblarn on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 between 3pm and 5pm !
